#Max msp 5.1 code#
The code in Unity is already written and might need to be slightly modified to ensure it all works. My main focus for the week coming is to have a finalized prototype with just simple samples.

#Max msp 5.1 Patch#
At the moment I am using an already made patch from the University of Zurich but hope to develop my own if time allows it. Using Ambisonics allows me to place samples exactly where they need to be using both coordinates and distance (creating my own 3D Panner). Sending value 1 or 0 if image is tracked or notīut what is Ambisonics? According to Paul Virostek, Ambisonics is a technique of recording sound with 4 sub-cardioid microphones pointed at different directions which aims to not only record the typical horizontal plane, but also the bottom and top of that plane (giving it elevation) which can then be heard in an Ambisonics-ready system (VR, 16 speaker systems). Each voice will have its own spot in the 5.1 surround sound system and its elevation can easily be controlled with data from OSC in unity (my own RTPCs).ĭistance RTPC and Coordenates of object sending to Max via OSC After some research I found that a lot of work has been done in ambisonics within Max/MSP, this solves my 3D panner issue. But I do lose some important tools such as RTPCs (Real Time Parameter Control) and 3D panner. Using this method allows me to avoid using Wwise as it does not work with Unity 2018 until it is updated. I have managed to get the application to recognize 25 different logos from different companies, each of these images will then transmit some data that will control Max/MSP.

This week has been another full on week in terms of research and testing.
